Cavalier County Job Development Authority
Clyde is an unincorporated community in Cavalier County, North Dakota, United States. Clyde reportedly had a population of six residents as of 2002, and is sometimes considered to be a ghost town. Clyde was laid out in 1905, and named after the River Clyde, in Scotland, the native land of the early settlers. A post office called Clyde was established in 1905, and remained in operation until 1965.

Founding and Naming:
- Established in 1905 by the Tallman Investment Company.
- Named after Scotland's River Clyde to honor local Scottish settlers.
- "Clyde" is a Welsh term meaning "heard from afar," referencing the roar of waterfalls.
- Peaked at 275 in 1920 but declined to 80 by 1940.
- Post office established in 1905 with J. Peter Larson as the first postmaster.
- Clyde State Bank opened in 1905 but closed during the financial struggles of 1920.
- Hosted multiple businesses, including general stores, hardware stores, livery barns, and blacksmith shops.
- The town featured a hospital, a Methodist church (built in 1914), and the Assumption Catholic Church, which closed in 1937.
- Clyde School began in the depot and grew into a three-story brick school in 1917, becoming a hub for community activities and sports.
- The Clyde Orioles basketball teams earned statewide recognition, with both boys' and girls' teams competing at state tournaments in the 1950s and 1960s.
- The school closed in 1965, and students were integrated into the Munich school district.
