City of Langdon Housing Incentives
The City of Langdon offers housing incewntives to those who will either be purchasing an existing home, building a new home or remodeling an existing home within City limits. The home has to be of permanent construction, meeting all Federal lHousing Authority (FHA) standards. Final approval of eligibility for the incentive package will be at the discretion of the Langdon City commission after review and recommendation by the City Auditor. Incentives for purchasing an existing home (1 st time property owner). *
Four purposes of this incentive 1 st time property owners will be defined as the purchaser of a primary residence who has not owned a residence in Langdon prior to the current purchase. Renters purchasing a home quality as long as they have not owned a residence in Langdon prior to renting.

- Anything above the basic allowance for utilities will be billed to and paid for by the resident.
- Real estate rebate will be $500 or yearly real estate tax amount, not including special assessments, whichever is less.
Incentives for remodeling an existing home (for new or current residents)
The value of the incentive is determined on the amount spend in remodeling costs. Only taxable materials bought from local Langdon businesses can be any local Langdon business and must be purchased outside of the area. Labor can NOT be included in the remodeling costs. The remodeling improvements to the house must be of permanent fixation. Below is the chart to determine the incentive value based on amount spent in remodeling costs. The remodeling costs of a house may be accumulated for one fiscal year and reported to the Langdon City Auditor at the end of that fiscal year to receive incentive value amount. Note: The maximum incentive value is $500.00. The incentive value will be paid out in Langdon Bucks.

Incentives for building a new home (for new and current residents)
Note: Newly constructed homes may be eligible for an exemption on part of their valuation for up to two years following the taxable year construction began. This exemption is available to the first owner after the builder who resides on the property. The incentives are not transferable. The maximum allowable tax exemption is on $75,000 of the building value only. Land is not exempt.
