The Cavalier County Loan Pool loans up to $400,000. The partners in this loan pool are local banks and utilities including Cavalier County Rural Electric, Choice Financial, Farmers and Merchants State Bank, First State Bank of Munich, and Otter Tail.

Renaissance Zone
The North Dakota Renaissance Program, which is in place in Langdon, can allow up to a 5-year property tax exemption and a 5-year income tax exemption on a business.
Storefront Improvement Program
- Set-aside of $50,000 from Economic Development Sales Tax Fund.
- Funds will be structured as a 0% loan, payable in $100.00 monthly installments until the loan is satisfied.
- One-time effort to assist businesses most impacted by the 2005 3rd Street Improvement project in Langdon.
- Applicable to businesses with improvement projects that are not extensive enough to qualify for the Renaissance Zone program.
- Applicable to businesses located along the 5 blocks impacted by the 3rd Street project and to the alley on each side of those designated blocks.
- Up to $5,000.00 available to an individual business based on actual invoices.
- Applications are available at the Cavalier County Job Development Authority - County Courthouse.
- Applications must be submitted to CCJDA by 12/31/09 for work during 2009. Applications will contain a contractor’s estimate and businesses will be reimbursed according to final costs. A copy of the estimate and final invoice(s) will be filed with the CCJDA loan documents.
- Materials shall be purchased locally. If not possible, CCJDA’s Business Development Committee may give approval for outside purchases.
- The intent of the program is to improve property values and to encourage renovation that compliments the new look of 3rd Street.
- Work must be completed by 12/31/09.
